Art education includes secondary and post secondary courses, classes under local artists, workshops, paint groups, life drawing sessions and a mentor relationship with a lovely woman who taught me to love the process of art and appreciation for the end result of hard work. Presently, I enjoy pen and ink and watercolour, pastels, and acrylics. Favourite subjects include landscapes, animals and people ~ reflecting soft intimate moments to dramatic and unusually observed scenery.
Art Roots I was raised in a creative family consisting of ball room, jazz and tap dancers, vocalists, professional musicians including concert pianists, guitarists. My favourite childhood gifts were books and art supplies. Enchanted by colour, like most children are, I was mesmerized by Disney storybooks and animated movies. For instance, in 'The Sorcerer's Apprentice', while The sorcerer was waving his wand to command the objects in his environment I was fascinated by how colours swirled and combined and harmonized to create a different kind of magic.
